Skittles Night Report (26th March 2011)
Skittles Nite on Saturday 26th March was a closely fought contest with Team 1 (Flame, Rabbi, The Boy, Mrs The Boy & Little Rich) winning the team competition unbeaten. Flame especially was in sparkling form with his underarm tweakers and top scoring in two of his three matches.
The singles "Killer" competition was even more closely fought with Mrs Father Willey, Maddy (Little Rich's better half) Pam & Jim (Horny's sister & husband) performing very well on the nite and Flame once again showing his style by "tossing his balls" down the alley with great accuracy. However, Flame fell at the last fence to a late addition to the singles competition, a now lame thoroughbred who has not been seen for many a year and it was generally believed ended up in "Irish burgers" (for those of you who cannot work out who this is shame on you!). A special mention to Brian for the slowest deliveries of the evening, Skip for being such a well behaved spectator all evening and finally Daisy for being such a gracious loser (nil points!!).
The food was also very good on the nite with the chilli con carne deserving a special mention as now we know where the Naga Viper chilli (has been grown in the UK!!!).
BIG LOVE for L'iL Richie, Naresh, The Morse Man and Mahesh at AGM 2010
A well attended Nomad AGM reflected on another successful season, confirmed that the club is in good shape and bestowed various honours on a number of members.
Winkle and The Ice-Cap were voted in as Club Vice Presidents, Bully becomes Social Secretary and Rusty Communications Secretary. The 2010 Bowling Award was won by L'iL Richie, the Batting Award by Naresh after a fantastic debut season and The Morse Man won the President's Award.
However it was Mahesh who received the BIGGEST LOVE of all, scooping an awards hat trick of Club Man of the Year, The Skip's Award and Spirit of The Nomad Award in appreciation of his wide-ranging contributions through 2010.
